I Have Been Slacking Off - The Troops Haven't

Yes, I know. I have been slacking off on writing for the site again. Everything was going so well that I was able to let my writing slide. Momentum and the Holiday season were taking this site without me having to do much.

Now things have slowed and we are just a few hundred dollars away from another big shipment of cards (this batch is due to go to Afganistan). Its time for me to ask for your help again. The need has never slowed for our soldiers and we all understand how important it is to do everything we can for them.

The good news is that we got new pictures from our favorite Sgt of guys with the calling cards sent them through GI Phone Home - from YOU!

Please look at the pictures and know you are giving a little bit of home to people so far away everytime you donate to GI Phone Home.

What is going on?

It's as simple as this. our soldiers overseas can't afford to call home, and we need to take care of them. We are collecting calling cards to send to them. Send calling cards or you can donate directly into our paypal account and we will buy and send the cards for you.

There are four ways to donate:

Click on the Make A Donation button above to use PayPal (PayPal gets a small percentage off the top for their service fee)
Visit any Compass Bank
Contact us for a current list of drop-off locations in your area

While we are at it, its time to start putting pressure on phone companies to take care of our soldiers and stop taking advantage. There is no circumstance under which it is acceptable to charge any member of the armed forces outrageous connection, per-minute, and recharge fees. The carriers involved need to start stepping up. Call your long distance company and tell the to support our troops and let our GIs PHONE HOME!
